Using RSS promotion & marketing to get more targeted website traffic.

Ever since I heard of podcasting, I have heard more and more about RSS. Previously I just thought RSS was something out of my league and when I read more to understand it, I didnt just get it easily (maybe am just some slow learner).

After a few weeks of digging and reading, I have come to know A LOT about RSS feeds. I got a lot of "insider" info how people are utilizing RSS marketing and promotion to get the search engines to crawl them in no time (of course resulting in increased targeted website traffic). The other option would be to wait for weeks before the search engines do their "Dance" to index new sites. And that did not even guarantee increased website traffic results. Using RSS promotion can actually give you a way better advantage over your competition. You can derive the advantages of having your website exposed by the fact that your RSS feeds are picked up by various aggregators on the web and delivered to feed subscribers, who actually subscribed to receive that kind of information in your feed. This is an ingenious way of using RSS promotion for increased website traffic because these are a targeted people who will be interested in whatever your feed has to offer. Also with RSS promotion, when you update your feeds, instead of waiting for the search engine spiders to come (in 4-6 week's time), it is actually the search engines that will look for you and index your website immediately. I actually heard that there are services on the net that will actually "ping" your feed and alert the search engines that you have updated your feeds, so that every time you update, the spiders will index it way faster.

Also its easy to understand why search engines are worried about RSS feeds and RSS promotion, apart from people being able to get backdoors to SE directories, RSS feeds will eliminate the need to search and check your email because once you are subscribed to the RSS feeds that you are interested in, you will constantly get information directly aggregated by your RSS reader. You wont need to go the search engines to search. I am so enthused by the many application of RSS in promoting increased targeted website traffic, not to mention its applications in podcasting, delivering weather updates its possible application is schools to update students on homework etc, latest stock quotes delivery.... etc.

Staring out in RSS promotion and marketing is as easy with some RSS tools like MyRSS Creator in the market. Instead of spending your next two months trying to learn the nitty gritty of RSS, these guys have broken it all down to just filling forms wioth appropriate details and you will be done. Increasing website traffic is the greatest challenge in online business, and once you have it, everything should be bread and butter. I think using RSS  for increased targeted website traffic is going to gain a lot of popularity and in a few years, if you are not using it, you will probably not be able to rank good in the search engines.

More on RSS promotion: Backdoor to Yahoo directory RSS tools for increased website traffic.

Last post I commented on various RSS tools that could be used for increased website traffic. RSS promotion at its best, can give you an accelerated advantage in getting listed in the search engines and getting indexed there. Today I will show your a shortcut to the Yahoo directory. If you follow the methods below well, you will be indexed in yahoo in no time. (normally you have to wait for weeks for this to happen). This is really easy part of RSS promotion. All you need is a Yahoo account/email address and an RSS feed to your site, which can be easily created by an RSS tool like the MyRSSCreator program.

If you don't have a Yahoo account, sign up for a email account there.

  • Next you want to go to " My Yahoo " Its your personal page at Yahoo. You can go there using the Icons at the top of Yahoo.
  • On "My Yahoo", look at the topo left corner area below the Search bar that is written "Add Content". Click here and it will take you the a page with a text bar. On the right side of the text bar, click on "Add RSS feed". Cut and paste your RSS feed URL and click to add it to your Yahoo.
  • Believe it or not but it will let you add your sites feed to Your yahoo. If you went the normal route it would take 6 weeks to 3 months to get your site feed url to show up in a Yahoo search if even then. But if you follow my directions and add it to your yahoo it will show up in 10 days or less. And it will start to show up in yahoo searches for the key words in your posts titles.
If you are having trouble, you can post a comment on this post and I would be ready to help. Once your RSS feed is indexed, it will even start showing up in search results for the relevant keywords. This method is just a start of what you can do with RSS promotion to get increased website traffic.
